Atomic Dog Drag Racing is independently owned by Tracy Smith, who is
well known among the racing circuit. Tracy has been involved in racing for
over 20 years. Competition runs high with Tracy. He was involved in
sports for many years as a former football player.  While in college, his
dream was to become a successful professional football player.  A few
years later, he progressed to drag racing. He started racing guys in the
neighborhood and surrounding areas, and it soon became his passion.
Tracy gained a reputation in street racing, and a loyal following with all
age groups, including children. Realizing this, Tracy ventured away from
street racing, and decided to promote the sport in a more positive manner
within the safer environment of track racing.

He started his racing career with Capital City Bounty Hunter Racing Team,
and became well known by his competitive desire to win. His reputation
allowed him to move on to local racing tracks around Texas. The more he
won, the more his love for racing intensified.  Tracy later broke away, and
formed Atomic Dog Racing. Tracy's success on the track continued. He
became the FIRST Austin, Texas native to set the track record at Temple
Academy for running 1/8 mile in 5.02 seconds. Still another FIRST was
when he set the 1/4 mile record at 7.88 seconds.  He was the FIRST
Austinite to run 7 seconds in a door slammer car and won the Mickey
Tadlock Trophy for The Best Outstanding Car at the car show and many
other FIRST place car show awards. Tracy's record of being FIRST
continued, his most memorable award was when he set the world record
at the Super Chevy Show in Houston, Texas for the fastest power-glide in
the country.  All of Tracy's accomplishments have set the pace for him to
continue to strive to be the best at everything he does.

Tracy also knows the importance of showing today's youth that they also
have the ability to achieve their own dreams and desires.  He loves
talking to area youth about the importance of teamwork, discipline and
determination, and sharing his passion and love for the sport with them.  
It is his dream that some young person may develop the love for the sport
just as he did at young age, and achieve their goal of becoming a
professional race car driver.

At Atomic Dog Racing, we are constantly striving for continued
consistency and performance improvements. Tracy also has hopes to
later expand his team by adding a racer with nitrous  and Racepak Data
System experience to ensure the car is always running at its best.  Our
team is a FIRST class operation which holds its name with great pride,
honor and sportsmanship
